Yellow Ribbon Suicide Support Group
.
North Bethesda United Methodist Church sponsors the Yellow Ribbon Suicide Support Group for those who have been touched by suicide.  The group meets the third Monday evening of the month in Benedict Parlor.  Led by Rev. Deb the group explores healing and how faith can be a bridge to the future without forgetting those who are gone.

Each December, around the time of the equinox, the group sponsors a yellow ribbon tree with the names of all those who have passed from us.  There is also a tree lighting ceremony and a dark night service.  New names are added to the tree during the ceremony.

Pam Valentine is the founder of the Out of the Darkness Walk - Maryland which takes place each fall.  Last year, she and 50 others hiked along the C&O canal to raise awareness of the issues surrounding suicide.

For more information about the group or the annual Out of the Darkness Walk,
please contact the church office at 301- 530-4342
